Western hats fitted and shaped to you, made on the Clark Fork River, almost into Montana.

Hi, I'm Kat. I live in a little community called Bear Claw Parcels, right on the Clark Fork River along Highway 200, almost into Montana. The name Bear Claw Hats comes from home: the ravine, the river and the mountains out the window, and the occasional bear in the yard.
This is hunting country, and the highway brings truckers, hunters and travelers through every day. Everybody up here needs a good hat, so I make each one with care.
When I am not shaping hats, you might find me with a chainsaw, carving.
Start with felt, straw or a youth hat, then we shape it the way you wear it.
Fur felt and wool, open crown or pre-shaped. Warm, wind-tough and built for the cooler months.
Light, breathable and made for long days outside when felt would be too warm.
Felt and straw hats sized for kids, so they can grow into them and wear them for real.

Fill out the inquiry form and tell Kat what you are picturing.
Choose your felt or straw, crown, brim and color.
Kat sends an invoice. Once it is paid, your hat gets going.
We get your order ready, let you know when it ships, and it is on its way to you.
Life out here is as much carving and trail time as it is hat time.
